Export to Obsidian

Updated Jul 18, 2026

Take notes into Obsidian as self-contained Markdown — one file, a ZIP vault, or a folder export.

Leave with files you understand

When you want a long-term vault, Browser Notes exports text notes as clean Markdown with YAML frontmatter (including tags and starred state when present). Images can stay inlined so a single file is self-contained.

Export one note from the download menu, or export everything from the backup menu as a ZIP — or write straight into an Obsidian vault folder in Chromium browsers.

Local-first to vault-first

Use Browser Notes for fast capture in the browser; use Obsidian when you want a durable, portable filesystem of notes. Export is the bridge — not a forced sync account.

Try it in Browser Notes

Free, local-first — no account required.
